Specialized Personal Trainer – I started very young with a passion for athletics, competing in Muay Thai and MMA. This led to a passion in other sports like football and wrestling. I found myself adopting several characteristics from playing sports my whole life, such as discipline and the hard work grind mentality. I have always been one to push myself as far as I can, and once I adopted my passion in training, I truly embedded myself in this trait. After having a season ending injury in football, I automatically shifted my focus to fitness training and personal training. At the young age of 17, I began personal training. With 7 1/2 years of experience at 24 years old, I have truly pushed myself to become the best version of myself that I can be. While training people full time, I managed to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology, a Masters of Science in Advanced Exercise Science, and I will be continuing education August of 2024 in hopes of obtaining a Doctorate in Exercise Science. I have the sponge mentality, and I enjoy learning from others in the industry, staying on top of the new finds in exercise science, and developing connections with my clients. I have a huge passion in body building and crafting myself physically, mentally, and emotionally in the gym. All of the concepts I have learned throughout my educational career I apply to myself in my sessions, and figure out creative ways that I can translate them to my personal training clients to benefit them in the best way possible. I have always had wonderful role models in sports and fitness growing up, and my goal is to be that person for all of my clients as well. One of those role models being my father, who I lost at a young age. This created a spark in me that has pushed me to where I am today. The effort that I put in within the fitness industry is not only to create better opportunities for myself, but create better versions of every client that I come in contact with. I not only target the goals of the clientele, but the needs as well! Growing up, I had a love for sports and being active, and participated in just about any sport that I could. It wasn’t until I started lifting weights at 15 years old for football that I really began to appreciate the mental gains that came with physical activity. Beyond my fitness career, I served as a dedicated police officer for a decade in the Chicago area. During my tenure, I assumed the role of fitness instructor for the police department, training officers to excel in their quarterly fitness exams and the rigorous testing for new recruits. I was also an avid martial artist and obtained a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. I was asked to audition for a fighting game in the early 1990’s called Mortal Kombat. I was eventually cast as the characters, Sub Zero, unmasked Sub Zero and Scorpion as well as all the ninja’s.

What often goes unnoticed is my personal battle with an eating disorder, which developed due to the extreme dietary demands of my professional fitness lifestyle. I struggled with binge eating, a powerful adversary that continues to challenge me to this day. However, I’ve developed effective strategies to manage this condition. There were times when I would consume an entire box of a dozen “Dove bars” in a single sitting or find myself overindulging at all-you-can-eat buffet-style restaurants, with Las Vegas being a particularly challenging environment. I would leave these experiences feeling defeated and depressed. To counteract this, I would embark on intense, hours-long workouts in the hotel gym to offset my excessive food consumption. This cycle was not only emotionally draining but also potentially life-threatening.

Personal Trainer in San Diego – As a certified personal trainer with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology, my primary focus is helping people achieve their health and fitness goals. With years of experience in the fitness industry, I have gained the knowledge and expertise to design customized workout plans that are tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. My training philosophy revolves around taking a holistic approach to health that incorporates strength training, resistance exercises, body weight movements, and mobility. If weight loss is your primary goal, I will help you design a workout plan that combines resistance training and cardio. I will also work with you to create a nutrition plan that complements your workout routine and helps you reach your weight loss goals. If your primary goal is to build strength, I will create a workout plan that emphasizes weight training and resistance exercises. I will also work with you to improve your form and technique to ensure that you’re performing exercises correctly and safely. In addition to in-person training, I also offer online training to clients who are unable to train in person. This allows me to provide customized workout plans to clients who are located outside of my local area, enabling them to reach their fitness goals from the comfort of their own home. My approach to training is centered around the belief that hard work and dedication are the keys to success. If you are looking to learn how to lift weights the RIGHT way, I am the guy for the job.I specialize in strength training, muscle building, and body composition. My training program includes a combination of compound movements, isolation movements, and functional movements.

The results you can expect to see while working with me include the obvious like building muscle and losing fat, but also decreasing or eliminating any pain in your body and improved overall health.

Your program is more than just training sessions. Your program includes a customized training program for you to follow, even when we are not meeting a the gym. It will have a custom nutrition program which is specific to your goals and lifestyle. You will also get my advice on the best recovery methods in order to maximize your results, and accountability from me to make sure you’re staying on track!

I have worked with all types of people… both men and women, from 16-70 years old, and any fitness level. No matter who I work with, the program offers the results my clients are looking for… IF they are willing to work for it. After working with many different types of people, I have found one thing in common for the people that crush it and the people who dont… work ethic and discipline.

I am only looking to work with people who are actually willing to do the work, are coachable, and can follow the plan as closely as possible.

If you have made it this far, here is a little background on who I am!

Growing up, I was a hockey player. I played competitive hockey for 12 years, which ended when I got out of high school. I was a very active kid and hockey kept me in good shape. I didn’t start working out until after I got done with my hockey career because I wanted to build some muscle. The gym became my new obsession as soon as I got done playing hockey. My passion and obsession for learning how to get in great shape led me to becoming a certified personal trainer through NASM (national academy of sports medicine) in 2017.

In 2018 I moved from my home town in Colorado to San Diego and started my personal training business “Wyatts Workouts” and I have been living the dream ever since!

Over the years, I have experimented with different types of training, nutrition, and ultimately found what I think is the best way to get in shape. I went from a skinny 18 year old weighing 150 pounds, to a strong, lean, healthy 25 year old with about 30 more pounds of muscle. No steroids, no supplements. Just consistent action.

Another thing I enjoy doing is playing golf which I picked up back in 2020. I’ve gotten down to about a 12 handicap, and golf has also become a passion of mine. I am currently studying for my Level 1 certification through TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) to help golfers improve their body and their golf game!

I also like running, and completed my first full marathon in April 2023.
